TS Pumps also supply a Pomac Pump which is for Partially Defoamed Starch Milk, this pump has been designed for transferring this media to hydro-cyclones within the starch production process.

What type of pump do I need for Dairy?
One of the most important things to remember when looking for a dairy pump is to make sure it meets hygiene standards. One of the best ways to do this is to choose a pump that has FDA approval. This will ensure that parts within your pump are sanitary meaning they can be used for food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and beverage products. Other hygiene standards include EHEDG certification which ensures that a product meets European standards when manufacturing. Regarding our range for dairy products, as mentioned, Pomac Pumps are EHEDG rated, as is the Aseptic Diaphragm Pump.
What Pump would you recommend for milk products?
A great option for pumping and transferring milk products would be the Hygienic Centrifugal Pump from the CTH range, made of AISI 316L Stainless Steel, a non-self-priming option, ideal for food and beverage applications to reduce the risk of bacteria growth within the pump. The CTH range has a close-coupled pump motor shaft design and can either be fitted with an open or semi-open impeller. If you are looking to pump a high viscosity dairy product like butter or margarine, the Hygienic Centrifugal Pump would also be a possibility as it can be fitted with a heating jacket to help maintain a constant temperature within the Pump. Another option for pumping milk products from the hygienic range is the self-priming CTS-H Centrifugal Pump. The Centrifugal Pump range is one of the most popular when it comes to pumping for dairy applications due to its ability to handle aerated fluids with large particles which is usually present in milk substances. It is also a good option for businesses needing to transfer and offload different ingredients onto the product line. This Sanitary Self-Priming Centrifugal Pump (CPC-ZA) is part of the CPC pump series, both the CPC and CPC-ZA can handle dairy products. The range has been designed with cleanability and simple maintenance in mind.
Sanitary and Hygienic Diaphragm Pumps
At TS Pumps we have three Diaphragm Pump options available that are suitable for pumping dairy: Sanitary Diaphragm Pump, also available with revolutionary low energy technology (LEAP) and an Aseptic Diaphragm Pump. Benefits include:

If you are looking to pump viscous dairy products such as yoghurt, custard, butter, or curdled milk, the best option would likely be a Sanitary Lobe Pump. It works by rotating two-lobe components inside the suction port which creates a vacuum to draw the product through to the pump casing. This Lobe Pump is also fully EHEDG compliant and has the advantage of CIP available for easy and efficient cleaning.
How can I maintain the temperature of my product?
